ASIST Scholarship (Adult Students in Scholastic Transition)
If you have submitted a scholarship application to Pellissippi State and qualify for scholarships, you are invited to apply for this scholarship. EWI of Knoxville awards $500.00 per semester for up to 4 consecutive semesters – excluding the summer semester. The money resides in the student’s account at Pellissippi State.
Applications are being accepted through an online platform (Kaleidoscope) through Monday, March 31, 2026. You can access the platform here: https://app.mykaleidoscope.com/scholarship/asist2026
The selection criteria and requirements needed to submit an application are listed on the site. Below is a sample of the requirements.
1. Demonstrate financial need.
2. Be enrolled full-time or part-time at Pellissippi State.
3. Be 18 years or older.
4. Be enrolled in a degree-seeking program.
5. Have a minimum grade-point average of 2.5 or its equivalent in the high school or college last attended.
6. Receive two written recommendations for the scholarship from a high school guidance counselor or college faculty advisor, teacher or recognized professional person such an employer.
7. Criterion (5) is subject to exception.
8. Individuals with children residing in the home.
The following materials are required to be provided electronically by upload in the application. Please have these available when submitting your application:
1. FAFSA/TAFSA information.
2. Student Transcripts - most current document is required.
3. ACT/SAT Scores as applicable for applicant's future educational plans.
4. Two (2) Personal Recommendations - the letters must be completed by two (2) individuals of the applicant's choice who is either a past or present employer, teacher, counselor or other school administrator, or someone serving in a leadership/mentorship role for the applicant.
5. Essay-minimum of 500 words on one of the topics provided.
